Jewellery Designer, Helena Rice, has been working in London on a “client commission basis” and is now branching out to supply a niche market of ladies who, like herself, enjoy wearing natural fabrics & materials to create a complete look and feel.
With an abundance of precious stones and exciting metals that complement today’s fashion creations. Both on the catwalk and more importantly, those personal favourites we all treasure and build on from season to season - our wardrobe collectables!
Helena ensures all gems are purchased direct from established genuine suppliers of gemstones and likewise metals from gold and silversmiths, based in London, Glasgow, Dubai and India; selects all gem stones personally, designs and creates, pieces of individuality, which will not only enhance a desired look but will also energise & revitalise moods “gemstones do possess metaphysical & healing properties too”.
Incorporating the colours of this season in Helena’s winter 2008/9 collection enjoy… dark and light aubergine amethyst, sunflower yellow/orange carnelian, smoky smouldering quartz, striking aquamarine for contrast, creamy black pearl, spectacular ruby and deep dark navy iolite. Vibrant red garnet; texturally empowering lava and positively edible peridot. Not forgetting my favourite, sophisticated tourmaline.
Seriously! Having spent many hours and yes, years searching antique fairs, souks and even a market in Brussels, because you know what? There was no colour enhancing back then and gem stones truly were hand cut and polished in their natural tones! Both antique recycled metals and gemstones are woven and interlinked together with newly drilled gems side-by-side to create an energy that will carry you through both good days and bad from dawn till dusk!
Equally, if you already have found that special outfit and you too spent hours and years finding it I am more than happy for you to be the designer and I will work with you to emulate the look you envisage for that special day!
